Drug testing plays a critical role in monitoring patients who are prescribed controlled substances, including opioid pain medications, antianxiety medications, stimulants and drugs to treat substance use disorder. Testing choices have expanded in recent years and choosing the most appropriate drug testing involves the consideration of many factors.

Dr. Walker has an undergraduate degree in medical technology, completed a PharmD at the University of Minnesota and did a postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacokinetics and infectious diseases. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in toxicological chemistry and a Fellow of AACC Academy. She has been with Labcorp toxicology for more than 30 years and is a discipline director for clinical toxicology.
