Development of an In Vitro Assay for Assessment of IL-2 Independent CAR T Proliferation

ASGCT 2022 -- CAR T cells must not persist or expand beyond their therapeutic window. Preclinical animal studies of CAR T cell persistence are expensive, lengthy and may not detect persistent CAR T cells across matrices. We have developed a cell viability and proliferation assay to track CAR T cell persistence in vitro. Our in vitro assay provides an additional safety assessment for CAR T cell products to fail early before the costly investments in preclinical and clinical studies.
